TO BE ADDRESSED TO THE CROWN AGENTS FOR THE COLONIES.

Sir,

17th December,

Hong Kong - Coin

Regn 405.

1896

I have the honour to inform you that we have

received a telegram from the Government of Hong Kong in

the following words "Send out as soon as possible one

"hundred thousand five cent pieces."

We propose,

with the approval of the Secretary of State, to act upon this indent, but as the previous indents executed this year have not included any five cent pieces and the number of pieces now applied for represents the small sum of $5,000 only, whereas in 1894 and 1895 five cent pieces to the value of $230,000 and $200,000 respectively. were supplied, there is some doubt whether $100,000 worth

and not 100,000 pieces are required.

I have the honour to be,

Sir,

Your obedient Servant.
